Creating something when you have skin in the game – when you are sacrificing something to do it – is like walking off a cliff onto a wide plank. Then the beam becomes a rope and you have to keep walking across to get to the other side, but you feel like you’re going to fall off any moment. The rope becomes string, then a thread. It turns dark, and you hope to heaven you can make it.
